{Part Eight} The Lunar Template Series: The Balsamic Moon Phase
This is the last phase of the cycle, and it’s one of the most important invitations and life lessons that women, especially mothers, need. Not want, NEED.
This phase highlights the energy of slowing down, in order to re-coop, re-energize, reinvigorate and restore, so you can speed up again.
Depending on the essence of who you are and the season you’re currently experiencing, this could look like rest, sleep, relaxation, slowing down, de-stimulating or de-stressing. This could also look like having fun, being adventurous, spontaneous, and doing something invigorating that makes you feel like the badass you are!

However this lands for you, the emphasis is placed on doing or being in a way that doesn’t require meeting expectations or standards in a way that you’re producing anything for a results-oriented outcome.
This is a time built naturally into the cycle purely and innocently for whatever you need to do for yourself, guilt and shame-free.
Many women have a very (very) hard time with slowing down, resting, relaxing or doing something without inhibition.
There are 3 most common blocks I see women make when it comes to relaxing or slowing down:
- They try it once, it doesn’t work or meet the expectation they have, and they write it off as bogus.
- They are trying to cram decades of decompression into one class, workshop or night/weekend “off”.
- They haven’t determined what they actually need, in what way they need it, or how to receive what they need in order to refuel, re-coop or revitalize their energy.

A unique place to start with recovering holistically from burn-out, exhausted, stress and anxiety is something called Pratyahara.
Pratyahara is the “art of sensory withdrawal”, which is to say de-stimulating each of the 5 senses.

The Balsamic Moon is a paramount phase in the wholeness and flow of the the lunar phases.
To wrap up this series, I want to emphasize how important it is for women to follow a framework that allows space for all of there mental, emotional, physical and energetic fluctuations.
Collaborating with the moon calendar as a template to apply to your personal energy cycle will give you a great way to recognize, work with and leverage the ebb and flow of your natural cycle.
